WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 Autonomous Mobile Robotics Competition

    Autonomous Mobile Robotics Overview

Autonomous Mobile Robotics (AMR) and robotic engineering provide a powerful and engaging pathway for students to explore advanced technologies and develop industry‑relevant skills. The WorldSkills Mobile Robotics Competition is designed to strengthen competencies across multiple technical disciplines, including:

    • Mechanical and electronic system development
    • Sensor integration and drive‑train technology
    • Programming and control logic
    • Applied mathematics
    • Technical reading and comprehension
    • Analytical problem‑solving
    • Collaboration and team‑based engineering

    WorldSkills Standards Framework

Within a structured framework that ensures validity, clarity, and global consistency, the WorldSkills Standards:

    • define the specialist, technical, and generic competencies that reflect intermediate‑level work roles worldwide
    • specify what a capable practitioner must know, understand, and be able to perform
    • are created with guidance from technical and vocational WorldSkills Experts
    • are reviewed and updated biennially in consultation with global industry partners
    • indicate the relative weight and importance of each standard as advised by industry and business

Primary value of the Standards : The Standards serve three essential purposes:

    1. Competition Benchmark – They establish the baseline for authentic vocational performance at WorldSkills Competitions.
    2. National and Regional Alignment – They act as a benchmark for training frameworks and certification systems worldwide.
    3. Global Workforce Readiness – As markets globalize, the Standards help young professionals develop the skills required to thrive in modern, technology‑driven industries.

    The competition

At the Shanghai 2026 competition, competitors will receive the WorldSkills Autonomous Mobile Robotics Shanghai 2026 FULL Collection, which contains the complete set of mechanical, electronic, and sensor components required to assemble the one of four competition‑ready autonomous mobile robots.

For training and preparation, competitors may utilize the WorldSkills Autonomous Mobile Robotics Shanghai 2026 BASE Collection. This kit provides all core structural elements, actuators, control electronics, and sensors needed to construct a fully operational robot platform, with the exception of a small number of advanced components included only in the FULL Collection.

For teams currently in posessionof the earlier Lyon Collection, we have developed dedicated upgrade kits that bring those systems up to the Shanghai 2026 specifications. All kit options, including the BASE, FULL, and upgrade configurations, can be found here - https://www.studica.co/shanghai-2026
